My Earliest Sun T-shirt
What is your earliest Sun t-shirt?
I went through my old stuff and found two early shirts which are particularly memorable. The first is dated September 16, 1984 and says “I SURVIVED THE SUN MICROSYSTEMS DUNK TANK”. I remember splashing into the cold dunk tank water, taking my turn after Eric Schmidt (then Sun’s Software Manager and my boss) at Sun’s company picnic. You can see from the photo that I used it as a painting shirt at some point…
The second t-shirt is also dated, July 24, 1992, and says “SunSoft SOAKERS”. This was the shirt given out to the SunSoft team in their water war against SunLabs. I had to borrow the shirt back from my son Paul. He loves it because he was born just days after that event. I remember being too pregnant to fit the shirt and watching the water fight from a conference room, until the SunLabs water balloon catapult started smashing its projectiles against the window glass, causing us non-combatants to run elsewhere.
